Exercises That Fight Insomnia

Image
By:  Ivan Cavric If you've ever spent an entire day outside running around, chasing your children or taking a hike, you probably found it easy to fall asleep. Insomnia wasn't nagging at you after you'd exhausted your body through physical activity. For some people though that rule doesn't apply to them. Intense physical activity while working the muscles and getting the heartbeat up, can work as a stimulant and instead of drifting easily to sleep, a person can find themselves wide awake fighting insomnia. Keeping our bodies active is important. Not just for the obvious physical benefits but also because regular exercise can be a natural cure for insomnia. It's important to choose exercises that will work towards the goal of sleep as opposed to the exercises that energize you to a point that sleep becomes almost impossible. Yoga is a method of exercise that people have been doing for centuries. It involves a series of stretches and breathing exercises that work to t

Do You Create Good Luck?

Image
By:  Ivan Cavric Good luck? Maybe you have heard that luck doesn't exist, but you can see that some people seem to always have better things happen to them than others. Whatever you call it, would you like to have the secrets that these people have? Here is one of them. Be In The Right Place For Good Luck Good luck is often the result of simply being in the right place at the right time. Fortunately, you can choose to be in these places at these times.  A friend once told me "Did you see that truck John bought for $2,000? It must be worth at least $6,000. He's so lucky!" I mentioned to my friend that John bought it at an auction, where cars often sell for less. In other words, he was in the right place. "I went to that auction once," my friend answered, "but I didn't see any deals like that." John goes almost every other week, I told him. Of course he's more likely to be there at the right time to get the best deals. He's so lucky that

Control Your Fear Before It Will Control You!

Image
By:  Ivan Cavric  "Fear Factor" has been one of my favorite TV shows. It highlights the courage of the participants to engage in the most fearsome and disgusting acts.  Most of the contestants are willing to sacrifice their dignity for the sake of the prize money. So what does that imply?  It implies that with the proper mindset, determination, and will power, you can conquer your fear.  Everyone has some sort of fear. It may be brought about by any one or more of the following reasons. by a traumatic past incident (like being bitten by a dog) by the influence of other people by their own negative way of thinking But are you going to let fear take over your life? Will you remain a hostage of your fear forever?   You must take the necessary steps to overcome your fright. It's all in the mind.   Do you envy other people when you see them enjoying wild rides, and you're just stuck in a corner because you're too terrified to give it a try? My suggestion is to face you

Beliefs And The ‘Victim’ Syndrome

Image
By:  Ivan Cavric Who do you know that takes full responsibility for all their feelings and behaviours?  What would your life look like if you quit blaming others for what you feel and what happens to you?  What would your life be like if you decided that your life was yours and you could consciously create it any way you wanted to? Research findings by social scientists and psychologists have demonstrated that the belief systems of individuals have a profound effect on health, the mind, and success.  Cancer patients who believe that they can heal their bodies are much more likely to go into re-mission, students who believe that they can do well in school will do well, and people who believe they can succeed in business will succeed.  In other words, “They can because they think they can.”   Beliefs are assumptions, prejudices, judgements, ideas, opinions, and attitudes through which everything we experience is filtered.  Beliefs are not facts – just opinions with expectations attached.

A Little Testosterone Goes A Long Way

Image
Posted By:  Ivan Cavric Written By:  Mary Foley In June we celebrate Father’s Day, a day when it’s ok for all men to be a guy.  Scratch, sniff, or click, it’s all acceptable.  When it comes to men, I’ve been around plenty.  Starting with being surrounded by guys in school, then my 30 plus years as an entrepreneur, I've had lots of opportunity to interact with and observe men.  I’ve come to appreciate some of the ways men operate that serve them well in business and in life. “What?!” I hear some of you saying.  That’s right, but read on. I'm not about to adopt ALL of men’s behaviors.  No way!  I like my female attributes.  And, besides, I can't be a guy nearly well as men can; they have that born-with-it advantage.  Still, a little testosterone goes a long way.  So, in celebration of Father’s Day, here are some of men's "testy" behaviors that bodacious women could benefit from stealing: 1. LET NEGATIVE WORDS BOUNCE OFF:  Men have a wonderful ability to not allo

How To Have A Great Time Gambling Without Losing Your Money

Image
By:  Ivan Cavric Gambling in a casino or online casino is supposed to be for fun, but for many people the casino is the place where some machine eats all their money, and they are broke after the first hour and have to go to the ATM to get more money.  If you are not an experienced gambler it may be best to stick to the slot machines, but the fact is that the casinos make most of their money from those one armed bandits. The easiest game in the casino is Roulette. The object of roulette is to guess what number the little ball will land on, which is not easy but there are other bets to make. In roulette you can bet on the color of the number the ball will land on, and since there are only two colors on the board it is a much safer bet. You can also bet on whether the ball will land on an even or odd number. If you are not an expert gambler and just want to have a good time you can also play keno. Keno is much like the lottery. You have a card marked with numbers 1 to 100, and depending

Addiction: When Gambling Becomes A Problem

Image
By:  Ivan Cavric While most people enjoy casino gambling, sports betting, lottery and bingo playing for the fun and excitement it provides, others may experience gambling as an addictive and distractive habit. Statistics show that while 85 percent of the adult population in the US enjoys some type of gambling every year, between 2 and 3 percent of will develop a gambling problem and 1 percent of them are diagnosed as pathological gamblers.  Where can you draw the line between harmless gambling to problem gambling? How can you tell if you or your friend are compulsive gamblers? Here you can find answers to these questions and other questions regarding problem gambling and gambling addiction.  What is the Meaning of Problem Gambling? Journey To The Top

Image
By:  Ivan Cavric Are you looking for career growth? Are you targeting your boss' seat or maybe even his/her boss' seat?! If so, it shows you have the passion and the desire to lead. You want to be empowered to deliver results.   This article is for people who are aspiring to get to the top and also for people at the top who are looking for their successors. People get motivated by different things and for different reasons to get to the top. For some, it could be the job title, the car, social status, an improved standard of living or even a fa t pay check. While for others it could be the challenge in itself, or an opportunity to learn and grow or an opportunity to make a difference. Whatever your motivation, always remain motivated, particularly in crunch moments, along your journey to the top!   I often come across people who share with me their desire to grow. However, they mostly look for instant solutions in a 'two-minute noodle economy'.  In such situations I als

How To Buy A Used Car

Image
By:  Ivan Cavric Think of buying a car as a game of poker, the seller is your opponent he may be bluffing he may not, but just as you would at a poker room in a casino you have to try to read the seller like you would in a poker room in a casino. Always remember to keep your eyes and ears open, when talking to someone about a used car. Make sure to ask lots of questions.   In a casino you are risking your money, in hopes of getting a big return, but when buying a car you just want to get your moneys worth, you want a car that will be reliable and dependable. You do not want a car that wont start on cold days or that stalls until its been running for a half hour.   Make sure to check the undercarriage and under the hood for rust. To a car rust is like cancer. Once rust is found it will spread unless it is cut off and replaced. Under the car and in the engine compartment you will find some rust it is only natural, but you want it to only be surface rust. This means if you take a wire bru

Dealing With An Angry Person

Image
By:  Ivan Cavric Everyone is periodically faced with an angry person, and can be challenging to deal with. I'd like to share a few ideas in how to react to another's anger, whether it's a spouse, friend, or even a stranger. Some of these will also apply if you are angry yourself, which of course is something to avoid in the first place. Listen   Let the person vent a little, and get their words and feelings out. If you interrupt them too quickly to defend yourself, it's going to just make things worse. Wait for them to finish or for a pause. Being a good listener is an important skill in many other situations also. A good technique for listening is to ask questions. It not only helps you understand them better, but shows them you truly care to understand.   Stay Calm - Don't go into anger mode yourself, it just compounds the situation. Just remind yourself that anger is unlikely to accomplish anything good, so why do it.   Validate   Validate their anger, do not ju

Conflict Mistakes

Image
By:  Ivan Cavric One of the questions I receive most often is what do I do when I've "blown it? "  As one good friend said: "I forgot all the great ways I know to address a conflict. I reprimanded an employee by basically attacking her character. I did apologize, and, thankfully, she is not quitting. But things feel awkward, and I'm wondering if there's something I can do to help the situation besides apologize." First, this person did just the right thing; she apo logized , and she didn't wait too long to do it. It's important to remember that we all react occasionally in ways that we think better of later. Once you apologize, give it time. Continue to center, breathe, smile, and treat the employee with respect.   In addition, hold the vision that with time your relationship will be back on the right track. Visualize how you want the relationship to look as you continue to work together, and begin acting on that vision in your daily communicati
