Controlled By Beliefs!

Image
By:  Ivan Cavric Have you ever had someone attacking you and you can't figure out why?  They may say it is because of something you said, did or wrote, yet you know that it had nothing to do with them.  This happens more than we realize. And knowing how to recognize it and how to deal with it, is important in business and life. Quite often, an angry or even violent reaction from another person is due to a conflict or perceived threat with his or her inner belief system. On a fundamental level, the information or action triggered fear for their survival. You see, when our inner beliefs are challenged, when tend to go into protection mode. It can shut down our ability to think and respond clearly. And quite often, we are not even aware of what these inner beliefs are.  Many if not most of them were developed in our childhood when we were learning how to survive and how everyone around us did things. This is why, you can have two or more people in the identical situation and they al

Improve Your Memory!

Image
By:  Ivan Cavric A Quick Word Helps to Remember   Do you have a list you have to remember quickly? Take the first letters and form an acronym. For example - you have to remember to send Fred, Lisa, Ethel and Andrew cards. Yes, their first initials form the word FLEA. Imagine itching (your head?) because you have a flea - you know the first letters of their names. Going to the supermarket? Bread, vinegar, ketchup, onions, tuna, olive oil- BVKOTO. Not too promising? Try rearranging them - you have TV BOOK. Think of a book jumping out of a Television and attacking you. Silly? Yes. But remember - the sillier the better, it will force it to stay in your head. Now you have all the letters. If you don't have enough letters to form a word - try to find one that comes close. PROMPT for PRMT, FAULT for FLT and so on. You already know the items you have to remember. What you are trying to do is create a reminder - once your memory is jogged, the words will come back. When you are devising the

How Fears Develop

Image
By:  Ivan Cavric There have been talks about fears and phobias, and how they affect life. Fear is really the misconception, the rejection, and the dread of life.   There are thousands of life definitions available around. Often, these meanings seek or require a happy, if not perfect, life in this world. We are urged to seek out a paradise or a niche of refuge where we can build our utopia or ideal world. However what really is life? If we honestly study human drama in history, we would see that real life is the concoction of good and bad, sad and happy. How to be happy in all these circumstances is what you make out of your life. We all create our life meanings. We cannot just borrow others meanings or get one from a book. We discover real life through actual life encounters. How we end up after each ordeal gives us our real life. Life is a concoction of both extremes. Real life entails going through these ordeals. When you reject this idea and look for other life meanings the kin

Quiz - Are You Reliable?

Image
By:  Ivan Cavric We all value those friends who are reliable. It also applies to family members. We do not respect anybody who is not reliable. He/she has lost our trust. In every relationship, trust is of primary importance. If you cannot rely on me, what use am I as a friend? What about you? Are you reliable? Can your friends and family members trust you? Why not quiz yourself and find out? What do we understand by being reliable? That means that if I give a word, I will keep that. I will not break the promise and give excuses to defend myself. To be reliable is a great asset, because then others can depend on us. That increases our respect and our esteem. Does any body respect those who are not reliable?   How to become reliable? The first step towards becoming reliable is not to promise what we cannot do. We sometimes make promises because we don't want the other person to feel bad. But after we break the promise, we not only lose his/her trust but can also be responsible for d

Omaha Rules: How to Play Omaha Poker

Image
By: Ivan Cavric Omaha poker is starting to become almost as popular as Texas Holdem poker in casino poker rooms, online poker sites and live poker tournaments. Omaha poker rules are similar to Texas Holdem rules. In both poker variations the dealers deals community cards, which can be shared by all the players. However, Omaha poker and Texas Holdem poker are different games and they certainly require using different strategy. Omaha poker can be played as fixed limit, no limit or pot limit. In addition, Omaha poker can be played as high or high low split. Here you can find introduction to both Omaha high and Omaha high low rules.   Omaha High Rules The play begins with the player to the dealers immediate left who posts the small blind, usually the amount of half of the minimum bet. For example, in a 4/8 dollars limit game, the small blind will be 2 dollars. Then, the player to the left of the small blind posts the big blind, which is the size of the minimum bet, 4 dollars according to t

Why Do We Quit?

Image
By:  Ivan Cavric I’ve been in my own business for over 25 years. I’m in the business of helping ours. I show them an alternative store to purchase their items. They are less expensive and you receive a check for referring others. It’s a very simple concept. Sometimes so simple it’s hard to understand. I’ve helped many switch stores and refer others. I give them every advantage possible. I give one-on-one training. I give them all the information I’ve acquired since I started so they may pass the word around. They receive a free website with free marketing training. They have an entire team to help them succeed. That’s the point….for everyone to succeed and make money. I realize life does get in the way. Things pop up that we have no control. That’s just life. I’ve been able to work around every life situation. That’s why I love this business. It’s very flexible and easy. Here are the 5 top reasons I think people quit before they even start: 1. They don’t know what to do next….. 2. It i

Don't Forget To Smile

Image
By:  Ivan Cavric I like to think that I have learned a lot of things from living my life. It seems my years have been filled with a whole lot of good things with a few really hard things in between. I have had the privilege of knowing a lot of really great people and I've enjoyed countless memories with each of them. I have been happily married for quite a few years and I've been blessed with several children. I feel pretty good today, but not every day seems to go this well. Some days life is hard, the people I love the most are annoying, and all I want to do is hide myself in a closet and cry. It is on those days that I remember the advice that my mother often gave me growing up. When I was having a bad day she would say, 'Honey, whatever happens today, don't forget to smile. Nothing is as bad as it seems.' I've found that piece o f advice helpful on countless occasions as I've grown. I remember in elementary school feeling like my life had ended because m

Casinos Most Guarded Secrets

Image
By:  Ivan Cavric The secrets of the casinos are not the kind of secrets that you may think. They are not secrets like the third slot machine in every row pays out on the hour, they are more like things they do to distract you from the obvious. One of the biggest secret the casinos do not want you to know is that if you use your head and not act irrationally you can go home with some money in your pockets, unfortunately most people enter a casino and all logic flies right out of their heads. They start seeing the bells and whistles of the casinos, and people with stacks of chips and all they can think of is what they are going to do with all the money they are going to win from the casino.   Using your head is the key to winning money in the casino. The first think you need to remember is that the odds of you winning the big jackpot are so outrageously against you, that it is not worth losing your hard earned money on. So by being smart and not trying to get rich on one spin of the rou

Money, Prosperity, Abundance

Image
By:  Ivan Cavric The Purpose of Money Unfortunately, much of humanity is so focused on making money that it has lost sight of deeper purposes. Persons in or affiliated with traditional organizations are perhaps particularly adept at this focus on money, or, as we like to say, "the bottom line."   We are moving into a time (or are we in it?) when we can more easily see the manifestations of our false beliefs. We are facing experiences that more easily teach us to tap into higher purposes and more empowering intention. We will surely get this teaching. Since I have entitled this article, "Money, Prosperity, Abundance," I want to define my terms. For me, each word connotes a different meaning and resonates to a different vibration.   The Meaning of Money, Prosperity, and Abundance   Money is a means of exchange, energy in the form of coins or wampum or reduced to paper as currency. Gold and silver have value -- both intrinsic and extrinsic -- but paper only represents

Are you ready to retire? You sure?

Image
By:  Ivan Cavric "Too little money makes people desperate; too much money makes people greedy", Aristotle.  In order to retire well, without worrying about running out of money, you must figure out how much you really need. The financial industry people will tell you a lot of stuff, but we must remember that they increase their profits by selling more financial products. These can include mutual funds, GIC's, IRA, RRSP's, bonds, stocks, IPO's. life insurance and a range of other products. In many instances you will be asked to save as much as possible for as long as possible regardless of how much you need. But only you can answer that - what kind of lifestyle do you want? There is a cool story that illustrates this.   A few years ago, a very rich businessman decides to take a vacation to a small tropical island in the South Pacific. He has worked hard all his life and has decided that now is the time to enjoy the fruits of his labour. He is excited about visitin

Like A Fine Wine, Instinct Develops With Age

Image
By:  Ivan Cavric In your twenties, going with your gut instinct had you dirty-dancing with your boss, drunk dialing your ex and cutting your own fringe. Turns out, like a fine wine, your instincts get better with age. Sometimes it's easy to act on impulse. Imagine you're crossing the road and a car swerves towards you.  You're not going to question the "Run!" urge, are you? But in everyday life when we're trying to make a decision, it's  all too easy for your gut instinct to be drowned out by dithering. Instinct is a powerful thing but often we don't trust it - we feel we have to have a sound explanation for out beliefs, so our instinct  argue with our sensible side. However that feeling in your bones could be just the tool you need to help you make your mind up. A lot of it is about recognising familiar or comparable situations and your instinct is more reliable as you get older, because  it's based on more experience so from which dress to wear,

Learning How To Overcome Self-Sabotage

Image
By:  Ivan Cavric It's easy to forget just how powerful our subconscious minds can be. We are often completely unaware of how our actions or in-actions are affecting our lives. We may complain that things never work out for us, we have bad luck, or we just don't have what it takes to be successful. What we fail to realize is that we are actually creating our own circumstances through subconscious self-sabotage. In order to overcome self-sabotage we first have to use conscious awareness to explore our emotions and fears, and understand how they influence our actions. Once we have determined the cause of the destructive behaviour, we can then take steps to prevent it from happening in the future. What's really hap pening when we sabotage ourselves? Subconsciously, we may be frightened by a particular outcome, even though we say we want it. Take, for example, losing weight. Many overweight people have struggled for years, tried diet after diet, and still can't lose t he wei

Knowledge Is Not Power

Image
By:  Ivan Cavric Whoever first said that knowledge is power was probably selling encyclopedias. Knowledge is a tool, like money and influence. Tools are only powerful if they are used effectively. How, then, do you make a head full of knowledge into a powerful tool? By seeing clearly what can be done. By seeing clearly your own limitations. By acting on what you know. Wise Action, Not Knowledge, Is Power   Investors often learn so much that they think they can consistently predict the course of the stock market. In reality, there are probably fewer than ten old investors that have never lost money. Wise investors know that the best they can do is get the odds in their favour, so they'll have more wins than losses. You have to see the limitations of knowledge.   I can read about how to sing, and even get advice from a voice coach, but I can't sing well. I'm not saying that I could never sing well, only that right now I cannot. If I'm not willing to do what is necessary,

How To Develop Creative Thinking

Image
By:  Ivan Cavric In my opinion, creativity is the real genius. Intelligent children learn fast, and apply their knowledge in everyday life situations. However inventing something new, creating something original, that is real genius. I always admire originality, whether it is original artwork, an original story, or an invention that can make life easier for many people.   How can we teach our children creative thinking? How can we teach them the habit of thinking "outside the box"? Here are a few easy and fun suggestions for activities that will go a long way toward developing this very valuable skill of creative thinking in your child. Slight adjustments may be needed for your child's age and skill. Play the following game: one person starts telling a story. He stops after a few sentences, and the next player continues his story. There is no limit to the number of players. It is a great idea to record the story, so that it can be distributed to the participants later
