Perspective on Life: What Matters Most Beyond Our Time Here
by: Ivan Cavric
As Wayne Dyer once said, “Don’t die with your music still inside you.” This poignant quote serves as a reminder that life is fleeting and we should make the most of our time here on Earth. But how often do we truly contemplate what will matter to us after we are gone? How often do we view our lives from beyond the casket and gain perspective on what truly matters?
The truth is, when we are on our deathbed, we won’t be thinking about how much money we made or how many possessions we acquired. We won’t be thinking about the arguments we had with our loved ones or the grudges we held onto. Instead, we will be thinking about the moments that made our hearts sing, the people who brought joy to our lives, and the legacy we leave behind.
So, let’s take a moment to view our lives from beyond the casket and gain perspective on what truly matters.
First and foremost, our relationships matter. When we are on our deathbed, we will cherish the memories we created with the people we love. We will think about the laughter we shared, the love we gave and received, and the moments that made our hearts full. We won’t remember the material possessions we accumulated or the money we made, but we will remember the people who were there for us in our darkest moments.
It’s important to nurture our relationships while we are still here. We should take the time to tell our loved ones how much we care about them and show them how much we appreciate them. We should forgive those who have hurt us and let go of grudges that only weigh us down. We should focus on creating meaningful connections with the people who matter most to us and cherish every moment we have together.
Secondly, our experiences matter. When we are on our deathbed, we won’t regret the risks we took or the adventures we embarked on. We will regret the opportunities we didn’t seize and the moments we let slip away. We won’t remember the times we played it safe, but we will remember the times we stepped out of our comfort zones and tried something new.
It’s important to live life to the fullest while we are still here. We should take risks, try new things, and embrace the unknown. We should travel to new places, learn new skills, and push ourselves to be the best we can be. We should make the most of every moment and never take a single day for granted.
Lastly, our impact matters. When we are on our deathbed, we will think about the legacy we leave behind. We will think about the people we touched, the lives we changed, and the world we left a mark on. We won’t remember the accolades we received or the fame we attained, but we will remember the positive impact we had on others.
It’s important to make a positive impact while we are still here. We should strive to be kind, compassionate, and empathetic towards others. We should use our talents and skills to help those in need and make a difference in the world. We should leave the world a better place than we found it and inspire others to do the same.
Viewing our lives from beyond the casket can provide us with valuable perspective on what truly matters. Our relationships, experiences, and impact are the things that will matter to us in the end. We should focus on creating meaningful connections with the people we love, embracing new experiences and opportunities, and leaving a positive impact on the world. We should never forget that life is a precious gift and we should make the most of every moment we have. As Wayne Dyer once said, “Your life is a reflection of what you think about all day long.” Let’s focus on what truly matters and live our lives to the fullest.”
